Happy Teacher’s Day 😍
Every day is a teacher’s day and in that sense it begins and ends with students with whom we share a symbiotic relationship. A few years ago i can still picture myself as a student who used to send hand-made greeting cards to all my teachers and used to receive instant gratification from their enchanting smiles . As a teacher I have realised the hard way that what teachers seek from students is not reverence or respect but the success , the happiness and the transformation to a wonderful human being of all the students they teach .I was an average student who still can’t make out the complications imposed on me by Pythagorean calculations or why some ocean currents moved in a particular direction or even laws , theorems and much more . Yet , one thing that has always fascinated me ( and continues to do so ) was they way in which they used to articulate, the way they used to look at every nook and corner , the way they dismantles even my carefully calculated excuses for not bringing my maths notebooks ( which even included a mouse eating it up) , the way they could tell with just a cursory glance whether you are suffering from common cold , pneumonia or examinophobia which will give many doctors a run for their money . I was an average student but I was hellbent on something , that I will never end up as an average teacher . Thanking all my dear teachers who made such an impact on my life as a student which invariably gets reflected in my career as a teacher .
Sharing with you something which among many other things touched my heart on this teacher’s day ! This is a leaf from the ‘Bodhi Tree’ ( Gaya, Bihar ) which was brought as a token of affection ( which he said was collected on ‘Gurupoornima’) by Dearest JS Anantha Krishnan, Diggu alias Beelzu who is presently working as a teacher . I am overwhelmed by this sweet gesture of yours . Thank you so much ! Posting this as a reminder of why our profession is still the best , which gives you immense, unconditional love on a daily basis . 😍😍😍 Any takers ?
